Our Environment

TasRail is committed to responsible environmental stewardship across its operation.

We seek to minimise any impacts associated with our activities by following best practice environmental management principles.

We currently employ two full-time Environment Advisers to:

  • Oversee and implement the company's Environment Management System (EMS).
  • Collaborate with all TasRail staff regarding implementation of key environmental commitments outlined in the company's environmental policy.

TasRail maintains a database of sensitive environmental attributes (eg. flora and fauna) across our assets.

The database is regularly reviewed, and any required onsite assessments are conducted, to identify and effectively manage protected, or sensitive environmental matters.

TasRail's environment team works closely with our project and infrastructure teams, advising best practices from pre-start, and regularly inspecting and monitoring sites to ensure required controls are effectively implemented.
