At TasRail, we are dedicated to being a leader in safety, health and environmental performance for the rail transport industry. Our Contractor Management System, Sitepass, requires our contractors to register their business and workers to ensure they are approved to provide their services to our organisation.
In order to complete works for TasRail, your business and employees must be approved and set up in the system. Your TasRail contact will be able to assist you with this process. Information provided in this system is stored in accordance with our privacy statement noted below and used only for the required purposes.
Prior to coming onto any TasRail sites, all contractors are required to complete our TasRail General Induction. This induction provides you with an understanding on how highly our organisation values our safety, health and environmental obligations along with a general summary of our business.
During this induction you will be asked to nominate which TasRail sites you will be accessing. This will then populate the site-specific induction that will show you the relevant details such as evacuation details and other important information relevant for that location.
The General Induction and relevant Site Induction must be completed prior to beginning any works on site. Please download or print a copy of your ID card to have on you at all times.
Track Safety Awareness is a mandatory training requirement for all contractors who wish to access the rail corridor or if advised by your TasRail contact. This is also completed in Sitepass.
Forgotten your Sitepass log in or need assistance accessing your account – please complete the form below and if applicable, a reset password link will be sent.
Sitepass is the contractor management system that TasRail uses to onboard and monitor contractors’ safety requirements.
All contractors that work with us will need to complete TasRail’s General Induction. This induction covers TasRail’s core values and safety commitments.
We have site specific inductions for any works completed at these sites:
George Town, Burnie, Bulk Handling Export Facility, Techno Park, East Tamar Junction and Brighton/Parattah.
The sites listed above will have a sign in tablet or QR code which all contractors will need to use to sign in and out. This QR code will check that all requirements have been met before coming to site and also notify the correct site supervisor of your arrival.
You will be required to download your identification card and have in either a printed or digital format when you come to site. This must be presentable if requested by TasRail staff.
Any contractor who is completing works within the rail corridor or can impact the safety of the rail corridor by nearby activities will need to complete our Track Safety Awareness course. This course is expected to take up to an hour to complete.
It is important to note that completing your TSA does not give you the right to access the rail corridor without prior permission. Any contractor not engaged by TasRail will need to gain access via our Property Department or Network Control. Further information can be found here.
For emergency access to the Network, please contact Train Control on 6332 2500.
