As the teams behind our Tasmanian Freight Rail Revitalisation Program continue the task of future-proofing the State’s rail network, our Procurement team is charged with ensuring they have everything they need at their disposal.
Thanks to the Whyalla Steel Works in South Australia we recently took delivery of 2,200 tonnes of rail and 1,800 tonnes of sleepers.
That’s the equivalent of 21.3km of sleepers and nearly 47km of rail (multiple weights).
