There has been a level crossing collision involving a train and a motor vehicle near Railton this afternoon, although early reports suggest no one has been seriously injured.
The collision happened at around 4.45pm between a TasRail train and a motor vehicle at the level crossing on Dulverton Road, west of Railton. The crossing is marked with a vehicle stop sign.
At this time, it appears neither the driver of the vehicle nor the locomotive driver has sustained serious physical injury.
Emergency services attended the scene. TasRail investigators are currently onsite.
TasRail has notified the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
The accident is not expected to cause any disruption to TasRail services.
