TRESSPASS ON TASRAIL LOCOMOTIVE – SULPHUR CREEK
At about 0900hrs on the 23 February 2015, TASRAIL Control were advised by a member of the public that, two or three persons were observed riding the last two carriages of a TASRAIL locomotive in Sulphur Creek area.

As a result, the locomotive was brought to a controlled stop and Police were notified of the incident. Members from the Ulverstone Police Station attended and spoke to a TASRAIL employee and conducted a search of the train and the surrounding area. The offenders were not located and the locomotive was cleared to continue on its journey.

Tasmania Police and TASRAIL would like to remind members of the public that this type of risky behaviour places themselves at great risk of injury or death and that any person caught riding a moving locomotive may face criminal proceedings.

Members of the public are encouraged to contact Police on 131444 or TASRAIL on 1300 827 724 if they observe any risky behaviour.
