As a result, the locomotive was brought to a controlled stop and Police were notified of the incident. Members from the Ulverstone Police Station attended and spoke to a TASRAIL employee and conducted a search of the train and the surrounding area. The offenders were not located and the locomotive was cleared to continue on its journey.
