TasRail advises motorists to expect delays at Conara on the Midlands Highway over the weekend.

TasRail and its contractors are working to upgrade the road/rail surface at the Conara level crossing.  The upgrade will improve safety for road users.

The works will commence at 2300 hours Friday 24 June, and is scheduled for completion by late afternoon on Sunday 26 June.  Crews will be working around the clock to minimise the disruption to road users.

It is expected that one lane of the highway will be closed during the weekend works.

TasRail apologises for the inconvenience, but asks that motorists using the Midlands Highway allow additional time when planning their travel time to their destination.

TasRail is committed to improving the safety and reliability of the network. With funding support from the Tasmanian and Australian Governments, it is investing in the upgrade of rail infrastructure and level crossings around the state.
